HEALING FROM HATE: EDUCATIONAL COMPANION PIECE:

ANGRY WHITE MEN: AMERICAN MASCULINITY IN THE AGE OF TRUMP

A powerful new documentary about the anxious state of white manhood in the age of Trump. Based on the acclaimed book by sociologist Michael Kimmel, Angry White Men offers crucial insights into why so many white American male voters seem to be so hell-bent on smashing the political order. Kimmel offers profound insights into why so many white men feel they have no choice but to cling tenaciously to an anachronistic ideology of masculinity — one that’s found expression in the regressive, rage-fueled politics of resentment embodied in figures like Donald Trump.

UNTITLED WEST VIRGINIA PROJECT

"Untitled WV Project" is a meditation on the suffering and devastation brought on by the decline of the coal industry in West Virginia, and communities forced to bear witness to a perfect storm of afflictions: from the realities of a crumbling economy, to the ravages of the opioid epidemic, to the wanton damage wreaked upon the environment and, in turn, tragic impact on human health.  Uniquely paced, visually and musically arresting – the project turns a compassionate lens on the resilient, hardworking, and proud people of WV as they face the challenges that threatened their survival and way of life.
